Donna Meredith

Donna

I began my yoga journey about three years ago.  Thinking of trying something new I went to one of Jamie's classes, and I was hooked.  Everything became new and exciting again.  I've also had the privilege to take some workshops with Doreen Wolf.  She not only opens my body but also my mind.

Although I'm relatively new to yoga I see no end to the  possibilities that lie ahead.  Donna is a hairdresser by trade and has lived in the valley for 29 years.  She and her husband raised two great childern and are expecting their 1st granchchild in August.  She loves to knit, quilt and also enjoys cycle touring with her husband.

Suzanne Gilliland RYT - C.Y.T

Suzanne

Suzanne Gilliland has been teaching yoga in Orange, Riverside, and San Diego Counties since 1999 and began teaching the Viniyoga methodology actively since 2002.

Viniyoga translated from Sanskrit means "to adapt". This method is the oldest form of yoga in existence and evolved with its sister science, Ayurvedic medicine. From its inception, this method was used exclusively on a one on one basis, to heal and to address the individual's needs and support their potentials rather than to impose practices on students which in many circumstances, potentially cause harm rather than help.

As all bodies are different, hopefully, so should be their practices with the intention of supporting the individuals interests, goals, growth and well being, as well as taking into account, age appropriate practices.

Suzanne is a member of the International Association Of Yoga Therapists and the Yoga Alliance at the 500 hour level and was certified as a clinically trained yoga therapist in 2008 by the American Viniyoga Institute. She is also as one of the founders and board members of the American Viniyoga Scholarship Foundation to support aspiring teachers who are financially challenged, to achieve their goal of becoming trained instructors and / or therapists in the Viniyoga method.

Julia Mata

Julia

I started my yoga journey in 1998. I have learned that practicing yoga off the mat is sometimes more important than mastering the poses.

In 2008, a friend convinced me to pursue teaching yoga due to being so passionate about it. I obtained my 200 hour RYT through Yogafit, Inc. but could not actually teach due to completing my Master's degree in Public Administration at California Baptist University.

I started a yoga group through Meetup.com called "at peace yoga in the park", and weather permitting, we practice at various parks in the Hemet valley. I have been teaching for 7 months for private /semi- private spa.

I look forward to working under Jamie's tutelage to hone my teaching skills and am proud to be a member of the staff at Barefoot Yoga.
